TCPM was the Project Manager and Owner’s Representative for the addition to the Singer Valve manufacturing facility located in the City of Surrey.

This project was successfully delivered through a coordinated design-build process with Rodney C. Lyons Architect, Contura Building Corporation, and Metal Building Group.  TCPM entered the project during the building design phase to establish control of the project scope, budget, and schedule leading to Singer Board financial approval and commencement into construction.

The facility improvements added 6,000 sq.ft. to the Singer facility and effectively doubled the size of their machine shop and Heat Fuse line.  This expansion also provided Singer with the ability to re-configure work flows to improve productivity.

TCPM was responsible for coordinating all aspects of the pre-construction including heavy manufacturing equipment procurement, work flow planning, budget control, and schedule control.  An immediate cost savings of $250,000 was achieved within the first 6 weeks of TCPM’s involvement through our project management methodologies of defining project constraints and challenging assumptions.

The plant continued in full operation during the expansion.  Work commenced in March 2013 and was complete in December 2013.
