{"id":178,"date":"2012-11-16T00:13:42","date_gmt":"2012-11-16T00:13:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tcsl.ca\/wp\/?post_type=portfolio&#038;p=178"},"modified":"2018-04-26T14:08:12","modified_gmt":"2018-04-26T21:08:12","slug":"comox-valley-airport-code-e-apron-extension","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tcpm.ca\/?p=178","title":{"rendered":"Comox Valley Airport \u2013 Code E Apron Extension"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Turnbull Construction Project Managers Ltd. provided Project Management Services for the $5.4 million expansion to the apron at the Comox Valley Airport.\u00a0 The expansion allowed the airport to accommodate Code E aircraft.<\/p>\n<p>Commencing in January 2005, TCPM was responsible for coordinating all aspects of the pre-construction phase including selecting design consultants, program review, budget control, schedule control, approvals with authorities, reporting to the Airport Commission and operations management, public liaison, and tendering.<\/p>\n<p>One of the initial planning steps was to complete a comprehensive functional planning study for the airport.\u00a0 PDK Airport planning Inc. were engaged to assess the future expansion requirements for the airport terminal building.\u00a0 Several options for the apron expansion were then developed and analyzed before the final selection was made.<\/p>\n<p>Detailed design and tendering of the project followed.\u00a0 Construction commenced in July 2005 and was completed in November 2005.<\/p>\n<p>This project demonstrated TCPM\u2019s versatility to successfully complete large civil projects in addition to commercial building projects.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Turnbull Construction Project Managers Ltd. provided Project Management Services for the $5.4 million expansion to the apron at the Comox Valley Airport.\u00a0 The expansion allowed the airport to accommodate Code E aircraft.
