TCPM provided project management services for the iconic award winning Surrey City Centre Library.\u00a0 The facility was designed by Bing Thom Architects and built by Stuart Olson Dominion Construction.\u00a0 The facility was delivered in a design-assist manner in order to meet the 19 month design and construction schedule.<\/p>\n
TCPM initially provided critical feedback to the design team. One example is that the geotechnical report called for placing footings at five meters below grade for bearing, but the plans at the time did not call for any basement space. TCPM recommended that one level of underground parking be added instead which allowed for the future provision of 44 parking stalls.<\/p>\n
TCPM also noted that the facility was under-serviced by elevators and recommended the addition of a service elevator. TCPM also coordinated multiple meetings between the design team and the City\u2019s facilities staff which resulted in the HVAC system being changed from a three pipe to a four pipe fan coil system.<\/p>\n
TCPM also initiated several scopes of work on the City\u2019s behalf before the Contractor was hired. TCPM tendered and managed the demolition of an existing building within 4 weeks of TCPM\u2019s appointment. We also tendered and managed the start of bulk excavation.
