{"id":57,"date":"2012-11-13T19:41:04","date_gmt":"2012-11-13T19:41:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tcsl.ca\/wp\/?post_type=portfolio&#038;p=57"},"modified":"2018-04-26T13:51:28","modified_gmt":"2018-04-26T20:51:28","slug":"city-of-north-vancouver-library","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tcpm.ca\/?p=57","title":{"rendered":"North Vancouver City Library"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>TCPM managed the new civic main branch library for the City of North Vancouver.\u00a0 This 3-storey, 35,000 sq. ft. facility is the centerpiece of the City\u2019s town centre block 62 re-development. \u00a0It is a landmark building in the heart of the City surrounded by a 20,000 sq. ft. public plaza.<\/p>\n<p>Designed by Diamond and Schmitt and CEI Architects, the library features state of the art book handling systems and wireless communications. The project achieved a LEED GOLD Standing including such features as daylight harvesting, geothermal loops and a solar panel roof.<\/p>\n<p>Construction commenced in January 2007 with PCL as construction managers.\u00a0 Occupancy was achieved in September 2008.\u00a0 Since opening, this majestic building has achieved the following awards:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>2012 National Urban Design Award, Urban Architecture Category, Royal Architectural Institute of Canada<\/li>\n<li>2010 Award of Excellence, Commercial\/Institutional Category, City of North Vancouver Advisory Design Panel<\/li>\n<li>2009 British Columbia Library Association \u201cLibrary of the Year\u201d Merit Building Award for outstanding performance in a building.<\/li>\n<li>2009 BOMA (Building Owners and Managers Association) Earth Award for B.C., recognizing the best \u201cgreen\u201d facility.<\/li>\n<li>2009 AIBC Lieutenant-Governor of British Columbia Merit Award.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>TCPM managed the new civic main branch library for the City of North Vancouver.\u00a0 This 3-storey, 35,000 sq. ft. facility is the centerpiece of the City\u2019s town centre block 62 re-development. \u00a0It is a landmark building in the heart of the City surrounded by a 20,000 sq. ft. public plaza.
