Turnbull Construction Project Managers Ltd. managed the addition of a new gymnasium and wrestling mat room for the City of Surrey.  This 12,500 sq. ft. facility enhanced the dry activities provided at the existing Newton Wave Pool facility.

In addition to a 40’ x 80’ wrestling mat room, the gymnasium can be set up for full-sized college basketball court, 2 junior basketball courts, or 4 volleyball courts.  The Multi-Use Addition features an abundance of windows within a few feet of the adjacent urban forest creating the feel of community sports in the park.

Designed by Bernard Perreten Architects, TCPM managed the project from early conceptual design to occupancy and full service warranty support.

Construction commenced in April 2009 with Dominion Fairmile Construction Ltd., as general contractors.  Occupancy occurred in May 2010.  The addition was being constructed while the wave pool remained in operation.
