TCPM acted as Owner’s Representative and Project Manager on behalf of the City of Surrey for the $7.5 million expansion to the Surrey Arts Centre.  Completed in September 2002, this 52,000 sq. ft. facility continues to be the prominent civic home for the Arts Community in Surrey.

TCPM’s role was to manage all aspects of the construction phase of the project on behalf of the City of Surrey.  This included reviewing/negotiating change orders, quality control, schedule control, resolving issues with the Consultants and General Contractor, communicating with Arts Centre staff and the City Facilities and Parks Management.

Designed by Proscenium Architects, the project included the addition of a new multi-purpose theatre, expended public amenities and lobby spaces, an enlarged art gallery, new public program space, and a complete seismic upgrade.

The entire renovation was coordinated such that the existing 400-seat theatre could re-open after only five months, in time for the fall 2001 season.  The new facility includes state of the art theatre production systems and high-tech communication and security systems, as well as digitally controlled environmental systems in the art gallery.
