ABOUT THE PROJECT
Surrey City Centre Library is an 82,000 sq. ft. landmark civic facility designed by Bing Thom Architects. The LEED Gold-certified building was the first development within Surrey’s Urban Civic Precinct, contributing to the transformation of the city’s downtown core. Delivered on a fast-tracked 22-month schedule, the project was completed below budget.
The library’s distinctive curved architecture centres around a soaring, column-free atrium. Floor-to-ceiling glazing, vaulted skylights, and carefully considered daylighting bring natural light deep into the building. Flexible spaces for reading, studying, collaboration, and community gatherings create an accessible, welcoming destination that supports Surrey’s growing and diverse population.
