The təməsew̓txʷ Aquatic and Community Facility
The təməsew̓txʷ Aquatic and Community Centre is a major community recreation facility in New Westminster that includes a leisure pool, hot pools, a 50-metre competition pool, fitness centre, two gymnasiums, multi-purpose rooms, childcare facilities, third-party lease spaces, and administrative offices. Designed as a modern, inclusive, and sustainable civic hub, the facility was developed to support recreation, wellness, and community connection.
The building was Canada’s first all-electric aquatic centre to achieve Canada Green Building Council Zero Carbon Building Design certification. It aims to make a 92% reduction in GHG emissions and has achieved Rick Hansen Foundation (RHF) Accessibility Certified Gold rating, reflecting its strong focus on accessibility and inclusive design.
