Aldergrove Credit Union Community Centre
Completed in 2018, the approximately 170,000 sq. ft., $44 million project combines aquatics, fitness, arena, and community spaces. The facility features Greater Vancouver’s only year-round outdoor pool, an NHL-sized arena, fitness centre, indoor running track, and outdoor waterpark with waterslides, lazy river, and spray features. Designed with sustainability at the forefront, the facility incorporates mass timber construction, rainwater harvesting, solar thermal systems, and energy recovery technology.
The facility features one of Canada’s first large-scale exterior canopies constructed using dowel-laminated timber (DLT) panels, with over 15,000 sq. ft. of mass timber canopy structures installed throughout the site.
