Grandview Heights Aquatic Centre
The Grandview Heights Aquatic Centre is a $55 million, 99,500 sq. ft. civic aquatic and recreation facility located in South Surrey, BC. The facility includes a 10-lane, 50-metre competition pool, leisure and therapeutic pools, diving platforms, a waterslide, a lazy river, fitness spaces, steam rooms, and spectator seating for major swim competitions and community events. The project is widely recognized for its dramatic wave-like timber roof structure, which spans across the natatorium. Designed as both a community recreation hub and high-performance aquatic venue, the facility has become one of Metro Vancouver’s most iconic civic recreation projects.
The aquatic centre’s roof was recognized as the world’s longest-span timber catenary roof at the time of construction, helping earn the project multiple international engineering and architecture awards. Click here to watch the glulam installation.
