The North Vancouver Tennis Centre
The North Vancouver Tennis Centre Expansion transformed the former Grant Connell Tennis Centre into one of British Columbia’s premier public indoor tennis facilities. Completed for approximately $4.6 million, the project added nearly 25,000 square feet of new space, including three additional indoor tennis courts, a children’s training court, expanded spectator viewing areas, a larger lobby, meeting space, and supporting amenities. TCPM worked closely with the District of North Vancouver, Shape Architecture, and Scott Construction to develop and manage the project budget, schedule, procurement strategy, and construction delivery. The project increased the centre’s capacity from six to nine full-size indoor courts, helping meet the growing demand for year-round tennis on the North Shore.
Due to its proximity to an environmentally sensitive creek, the project required a Streamside Development Permit and consultation with environmental regulators, including Fisheries and Oceans Canada. The North Vancouver Tennis Centre is one of the most active indoor tennis facilities, public or private, in British Columbia and accommodates players of all ages and abilities, including children’s, seniors’, and wheelchair tennis programs.
