MONOVA: Museum of North Vancouver
TCPM provided project management services for the restoration and adaptive reuse of the historic Lynn Valley Elementary School, transforming the 1920 heritage building into the North Vancouver Museum & Archives Community History Centre. The project involved a comprehensive seismic upgrade, restoration of the building envelope, installation of modern mechanical and electrical systems designed to archival standards, and significant site and landscape improvements. At the time of completion, it was the first purpose-built archives, of the 21st century, in British Columbia.
TCPM managed the planning, design, and construction phases of the project, coordinating stakeholders, consultants, and contractors to deliver the complex heritage restoration. The building, originally constructed in 1920 as the Fourth Lynn Valley School, has been described as the District of North Vancouver’s finest historic public building and remains one of the community’s most recognizable heritage landmarks.
