The Cultch / Vancouver East Cultural Centre
TCPM provided project management services for the restoration and expansion of The Cultch, a historic Vancouver theatre originally built in 1913. The multi-phase project revitalized the nearly 100-year-old cultural landmark.
The project included an 8,200 sq. ft., three-storey addition featuring new performance, administrative, and support spaces, along with a comprehensive renovation of the existing 14,000 sq. ft. theatre. Upgrades included seismic improvements, accessibility enhancements, building envelope renewal, and modernization of the facility’s electrical, mechanical, theatrical lighting, sound, and rigging systems, ensuring the venue could continue serving Vancouver’s performing arts community for generations to come.
The Cultch renewal successfully integrated modern performance infrastructure into a heritage theatre dating back to 1913, achieving LEED certification while preserving the building’s defining historic features.
