About the Project

North Vancouver City Library is a 36,000 sq. ft. civic facility located within the City Hall precinct in Central Lonsdale. More than twice the size of the library it replaced, the building provides flexible spaces for reading, learning, technology, and community activities.

Designed by Diamond Schmitt in association with HDR, the three-storey library incorporates a glazed building envelope, naturally lit interior spaces, and views toward the North Shore Mountains. Sustainable design strategies include natural ventilation and energy-efficient building systems, contributing to its LEED Gold certification.
