The Outback is a multi-phased distinct residential development perched on the cliffs of Okanagan Lake. TCPM provided a full range of project management services becoming involved in the project in March 2006 through to the 2009 Phase 3 completion.
Designed by Coast Architectural Group, these superior homes feature a unique gluelam beam and timber structure with vast expanses of window wall glazing to enhance the views. Many of the homes are cantilevered over shear vertical rock cliffs which creates significant structural challenges to manage as well as material handling and access issues. The homes are serviced mechanically by a state-of-the-art deep well geothermal heat pump system which provides energy efficient heating and cooling to the homes. Planted green roofs are also evidence of the sustainability initiatives incorporated into this project.
Extensive civil works were required to access and service the site including complete internal road system, water and sewer systems. The site features a 78 slip marina and breakwater using new Wave Brake technology in Quarry Bay.
