ABOUT THE PROJECT

The Richmond RCMP Headquarters transformed an existing two-storey building, originally used by the Vancouver 2010 Integrated Security Unit, into a permanent policing facility built to post-disaster standards. The facility accommodates RCMP management, administration, and operations, as well as holding cells, a sally port, and victim services.

The extensive redevelopment included seismic, envelope, mechanical, and electrical upgrades, together with RCMP security requirements and high-performance building systems. Sustainable features include solar domestic hot water, heat-recovery systems, and high-efficiency heating and cooling.
