837 Beatty Street
Constructed in 1911, the Anglo-Canadian Warehouse is part of a significant block of warehouses, exemplifying the area’s connection to the rail lines. This project involved the preservation of the building’s original structure and exterior masonry walls, rehabilitation of the existing parapet, and restoration of all intact wood window assemblies. Four additional floors have been added for a total area of approximately 38,000 sq. ft., with the upper level serving as an amenity space.
Extensive lead paint abatement was completed on the existing wood structural elements to restore and preserve the exposed timber throughout the building. The new vertical addition was carefully designed to align with the proportions and architectural profile of the original warehouse, creating a cohesive integration between the historic structure and contemporary expansion.
